Chemical & Energy Development is active in the fields of petroleum planning, of refining technology and of energy (power, heat, cold) generation. The company pursues, develops and distributes processes and systems improving environment and mitigating climate change contextually providing corporations and organizations with huge profits. Chemical & Energy Development licenses industrial property law and/or copyright law protected processes and systems and it provides optimization and consulting services.

In particular, for instance, Chemical & Energy Development licenses the “Advanced fuel process” technology, under the US Patent No. US 6,207,040 and the European Patent No. EP 0914405. On this subject it is worthwhile to report that this European Patent was challenged by the Opposition, a special procedure provided for by the European Patent Convention (EPC). The Opposition was rejected by the European Patent Office Opposition Division with an unprecedented hardness and the Patent was maintained without any modification. The Appeal of the Opposition (including the possibility of a Cassation-equivalent step) was also very rapidly expedited: on January 18, 2006 it was rejected by the European Patent Office Board of Appeal and the Patent was maintained again without any modification. This sentence is final and in the future nobody will be anymore allowed to make opposition to our European Patent, which is identical to the US one. In the Appeal the opponent, while trying to demonstrate the absence of the surprising gasoline octane and yield gains amid the Patent process results, on the contrary stated, of course unawares, the size of these gains being a lot bigger than (conservatively) shown by the Patent itself.
